Street Fighter V Getting Free Cinematic Story Expansion in June 2016, In-Game Store Launches This March

When Street Fighter V launches on February 16 for PlayStation 4 and PC it will include Character Stories, which gives each character their own storyline and provides background information on why they fight, and what their relationships are to the other fighters.

After completing Character Stories, Capcom says you’ll be ready for the next part of the story experience: Cinematic Story Expansion. Releasing as a free content update in June 2016, the Story Expansion takes place between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III, and “fully explains everything that transpired in that electrifying time period.”

More details about the Story Expansion will be available in the coming months, with the above trailer revealing that M. Bison and Shadaloo will be a main focus of the story.

As for the first post-launch content drop, it will arrive in March 2016 alongside the in-game store. “Upon completing the character stories and other single-player content at launch,” Capcom said, “Street Fighter V players can earn enough Fight Money to purchase a new character, and possibly more depending on skill level.”

There won’t be any DLC to purchase at launch using earnable Fight Money or the paid currency, known as Zenny.

If you want to play Street Fighter V once more before launch, the fourth and final beta will run from January 30 – 31.
