Now that Volume is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, complete with cross-buy, developer Mike Bithell has updated the game in all territories to include cross-save on both platforms.
As the Volume Twitter account pointed out, backing up your save is very important:
IMPORTANT: VOLUME cross-save incoming. If you have an older save you wish to keep please make sure it’s backed up to the PlayStation Cloud.

Cross-save feature for VOLUME automatically uses latest/newest save between Volume PS4 & VITA. Make sure save you want is uploaded at patch.

Bithell also revealed that the update should “clear up the Trophy pop bugs some folk have been experiencing.”
Later this year, Volume will receive PlayStation VR support and Volume: Coda, which adds 30 new levels and more.
