Telltale Games announced today that The Walking Dead: Michonne Episode 1: In Too Deep is releasing on February 23 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC/Mac, with an iOS and Android launch on February 25.
Episode 2: Give No Shelter will follow in March, with the final episode, What We Deserve, out in April. All three episodes will be available for $14.99 (USD) when Episode 1 releases, giving you access to the second and third episodes once they are live.
Here’s what you need to know about Episode 1:
In this premiere episode, ‘In Too Deep,’ Michonne joins Pete and his crew on the sailing ship The Companion as they cruise the coast for survivors and supplies. When a desperate signal for help draws them to a scene of horrific massacre, Michonne and the crew are lead further to the floating survivors’ colony of Monroe, which may just be harboring the person responsible for the carnage.
The Walking Dead: Michonne stars Samira Wiley (Orange in the New Black) and takes place between issues #126 and #139, revealing “what took Michonne away from Rick, Ezekiel, and the rest of her trusted group… and what brought her back.”
To get a sneak peek of Michonne, Telltale will be offering an extended preview of the first five minutes of In Too Deep on February 14 at 5:30pm PT/8:30pm ET through their YouTube channel.
Over on their blog, Telltale Games revealed that The Walking Dead Season 3 is deep in development, but you won’t be hearing about it for at least a few more months:
The Telltale team has been very hard at work in the world of the undead, and while a full third season of The Walking Dead is also currently deep in development, we don’t expect to be able to share any details until after this miniseries concludes. What we can say is that we expect this to be our biggest year for The Walking Dead we’ve ever had, and we’re excited to share this decidedly very different story with Michonne that will explore some themes we’re truly excited about bringing to the interactive space.
Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead has sold more than 50 million episode worldwide to date.
