Disney’s Consumer Products & Interactive Media division, which video games business is a part of, saw an increase in revenue thanks to the company’s licensing deal with EA for Star Wars Battlefront. The division’s revenue stood at $1.9 billion, up 8 percent over the previous year, and it earned $860 million in operating income.
All isn’t good news, however. Disney revealed that the revenue increase was partially offset by Disney Infinity‘s declining performance due to “higher inventory reserves and lower unit sales volume.”
EA recently revealed that Star Wars Battlefront shipped over 13 million units, which helped to boost the publisher’s financial performance.
