Celebrating the PlayStation 4’s birthday in Japan a little early (it isn’t until February 22), Famitsu listed the top 20 best-selling games in the system’s first two years, revealing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Knack as the top two titles.
With Famitsu counting sales as of February 7, here’s the top 20 best-selling PS4 games in Japan at retail since launch in February 2014:
- Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain – 425,971
- Knack – 400,888
- Dragon Quest Heroes – 327,019

It’s worth noting that Knack was included with PS4 bundles at launch in February 2014, and 310,000 copies were sold in its first week. By July 2014, Knack was at 399,000. If a recent leak is to be believed, Knack 2 is currently in development.
Famitsu also revealed that PS4 sales in Japan are sitting at 2.356 million as of February 7. Adding in last week, the PS4 is around 2.383 million in Japan.
