Axiom Verge PS Vita Version in the Home Stretch, Dev Offers Status Update

Released in March 2015 for PlayStation 4, Axiom Verge will hopefully be getting its long-awaited PlayStation Vita version soon.

In a new status update from the developer, they explain that Axiom Verge is ported to PS Vita and “it runs and is playable.” This is the biggest hurdle in a porting project, and it means their focus is now on “cleanup, polish, and bug fixing.”

Here’s a list of the issues that need to be fixed in Axiom Verge, with the Critical ones something they feel they cannot ship without:

Since most issues are just a question of implementing each feature or isolating a few bugs, and many will be tackled in parallel, Axiom Verge for PS Vita is in the home stretch and shouldn’t be too far away:

I am extremely tempted to share our internal target dates for completion, but I am going to restrain myself from doing so, since I don’t want to fail to meet expectations and continue to disappoint those of you who have been so patient and supportive. However, I am very comfortable in announcing that we’re in the home stretch. It’s everyone’s top priority, and we’re getting closer every day. Thank you all for your continued patience and support.

Axiom Verge includes cross-buy, so PS4 owners will get the Vita version for free once it’s released.
