Delaying it this time “to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one,” Sony and Naughty Dog have announced that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will now release worldwide on Tuesday, May 10.

Sony Computer Entertainment America President Shawn Layden discussed the delay, revealing that Uncharted 4 is set to go gold later this month:

As you know, Naughty Dog is wrapping up production on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End with the game on track to go gold and into production later this month. In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.

He later added, “We know this news might be disappointing, and we are sorry to have to make you wait a little longer to play Naughty Dog’s latest.”

On Twitter, Creative Director Neil Druckmann said, “This’ll make for a smooth worldwide launch. Thanks for your patience… It’ll be worth it at the end. Promise.”

Ahead of the open multiplayer weekend beginning on Friday, you can now pre-load the Uncharted 4 beta client through the PlayStation Store.
