DICE LA Not Releasing Any New Battlefield 4 Content to Community Test Environment

DICE LA Producer, David Sirland, has announced on Twitter that the developer has no plans to release any new content for Battlefield 4 to the Community Test Environment (CTE). In response to a user who asked about content planned for 2016, he said:

Yes, today I can let you guys know that at this point we don’t have any plans to release new content for BF4 to the CTE

In subsequent tweets, Sirland said that all prototypes (including maps) will still be available in the CTE, and that he’s only speaking for DICE LA when he says that there are no plans to release any new content. “We’re excited to share more info about future projects when the time is right. The CTE will be up and running, no shutdown planned at the moment,” he said.

Promising proper answers in the near future, Sirland revealed that it was “hard enough” to confirm all this information at the moment, but assured fans that the development team isn’t going anywhere.

The next entry in the Battlefield series is scheduled to release this year, and rumor has it that it’s set during the first World War.
