When Sony announced the closure of Evolution Studios yesterday, they said, “Where possible we will try to reallocate people onto other projects,” and if they’re unable to, “We will assist staff in any way we can, including speaking with local employers and with other development companies.”
Following the news yesterday, DriveClub and MotorStorm Senior Community Manager Jamie Brayshaw said the team hopes to stay together. “We’re hoping to stay together and there are some great options for us,” he said in response to someone who asked if the whole team is laid off.
In separate tweets, Brayshaw, as well as DriveClub Game Director Paul Rustchynsky, thanked fans for their support and teased a bright future:
@HarryBarnes We’re hoping to stay together and do something awesome. We’re figuring it all out atm.

@kevcampbell We’re hoping to stay together and we’ve got some great options ahead of us, but I can’t say any more than that right now.

@RathUSN @Envisager_ @Rushy33 Yes it does 🙂 Taking a short break first to refresh & recharge and then we’ll be back 🙂

Brayshaw then said MotorStorm and DriveClub are being left with Sony:
@ashley_goodger MotorStorm and DRIVECLUB are both under the care of Sony now. We hope you keep playing & having fun with them 🙂

@Northlander74 @Rushy33 No, the PlayStation teams will take care of the servers.

@HomicideSocial @Rushy33 We would have loved to do more with it, but today is very likely to be the last of the monthly updates.

Asked if there will be another DriveClub, Rustchynsky replied, “That’s up to Sony.”
