With three weeks to go until launch, Insomniac Games revealed the story trailer for Ratchet & Clank on PlayStation 4.
Calling the game and upcoming movie “complementary pieces,” as they tell the same origin story of Ratchet and Clank battling Chairman Drek, Community Lead James Stevenson added that the film focuses a bit more on character development, while the game has a bit more action between the scenes.
He continued:
But the game has a major departure from the film: the game is narrated by Captain Copernicus L. Qwark. So you get Qwark’s skewed self-serving version of events to set up a different way to experience the story. He gets all the big details right, but the little asides are all him. As you watch our new trailer for the game (And play it for yourself next month!) — you’ll have to ask yourself: can Qwark be trusted?
Ratchet & Clank will be available on April 12 in North America, with the movie following on April 29. In Europe, Ratchet & Clank has been moved up a few days to April 15, with the movie following “shortly thereafter.” Update: Insomniac Games is now saying Europe gets it on April 20, as previously announced.
