Sony: PlayStation VR Hardware Development is Done

In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida revealed that the reason the PlayStation VR’s launch was pushed back until the second half of 2016, was down to “an internal target that [Sony] realized was a bit too small.”

Considering just how quickly PSVR has sold out over the past couple of weeks, it seems the business side of Sony was correct in stating that, despite the “hardware development [being] done”, they “needed more units than [they] had originally anticipated to prepare for the launch.”

Yoshida made it clear that, although fans will have to wait a little bit longer, the delay will “give time for all of the software developers to keep polishing the games because virtual reality is very difficult, and there are lots of hard problems that [they] have to solve so lots of people will have a great experience when then try it.”

What are your thoughts on PlayStation VR? Impressed that it has been selling out so fast?
