Shahid Ahmad Signed “A Raft of Titles for PlayStation VR” Before Leaving Sony

Before leaving PlayStation UK late last year, Shahid Ahmad, the former Head of Strategic Content, signed numerous titles for PlayStation VR, many of which haven’t been announced yet.

In an interview with GamingBolt, Ahmad also revealed that there are still lots of titles on the way for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and PSVR:

My last responsibility before I left was to sign a raft of titles for PlayStation VR. Many of those titles have yet to be announced. There are still a lot of titles for Vita, PS4 and PSVR in the pipeline. Lorenzo [member of the Strategic Content team] is a great guy. He has drive, he is organized, strategic, a total gamer and super smart. There are a lot of exciting things coming from that team, which is in excellent hands with Lorenzo.

Ahmad added that he’s a “totally wide-eyed, raving lunatic for VR” and, while there will be a novelty factor to begin with, he thinks “you will see some truly astonishing experiences” when people start to understand it, possibly even some from him.

When Ahmad announced his departure from Sony last year, he said it wouldn’t have any effect on the Strategic Content team:

Strategic Content will continue. There are no plans to change anything. Our approach to developers will also be unchanged. We have many talented people across the board who work tirelessly to support developers in bringing their videogames to PlayStation.

Ultimately, he left to pursue a career in games development, and he joined developer Double Eleven in an advisory role last month.
