Arne Meyer, Director of Communications at Naughty Dog, has showered praise on Uncharted 4′s opening sequence, even going so far as to say that it may be one of the studio’s best.
Word comes by way of PlayStation Spain (thanks, NeoGAF), where Meyer partook in an interview relating to A Thief’s End, eventually circling around to touch base on the sequel’s beginning.
It’s one that Meyer puts in the same company as The Last of Us, giving players “that feeling of wanting to keep playing” from the word go. Here’s what the ND executive had to share:
In my personal opinion this is our strongest beginning, opening sequence for a game since the Last of Us, which was obviously very emotional, but I think this is probably one of the best opening sequences as well. That feeling of wanting to keep playing and wanting to know where it goes continues the entire game.
Uncharted 4 is set to release for PLayStation 4 on May 10. In related news, Naughty Dog recently likened plans for the sequel’s story DLC to that of The Last of Us and its own standalone expansion, Left Behind.
