Eagle-eyed Destiny fans have come across a nugget of information that appears to suggest the shooter’s planned fall expansion will arrive on September 20.
Details first emerged after a Reddit user known as Rezyl Azzir shared a piece of lore unearthed from a Dead Ghost. Found after completing a Prison of Elders run in record time — 16 whole minutes after Destiny‘s April update landed — this led to other Guardians seeking out the hidden treasure in question.
But as time passed, the Rezyl Azzir account vanished from Reddit; however, that didn’t prevent other users on the platform from discovering a cryptic message posted by the elusive Redditor in Latin. Shortly before the account was pulled, Azzir posted “”Vegisima die mensis noni. ILLUD est venturus. Per Audacia ad astra,” which roughly translates as “the twentieth day of the ninth month. IT is coming. Forward, to the stars.”
September 20 is a Tuesday, which would align with Bungie’s previous release plans for both The Taken King and Vanilla Destiny — i.e. September. For now, the official word from the studio cites that:
“The next point on the horizon is an update we’re cooking up for the Fall. I’ve seen it. I’m excited about it. I will say no more… For now. Hopefully, the ramp up to the April Update served up some proof that we love speaking at length about new Destiny content, once it arrives at its final form. Later on this summer, we’ll show you the scope, scale, and flavour for the next challenge you’ll face.”
Elsewhere, Destiny‘s April update brought with it a handful of technical hiccups — including missing Sterling Treasures for Guardians prior to the update going live — though Bungie has been rolling out fixes to combat the issues.
