Amazon Prime UK Identifies GTA 5, FIFA 15 and More as “Exclusively for Prime Members”

Amazon UK temporarily listed a handful of games including GTA 5, Far Cry Primal and Battlefield Hardline as exclusive to Prime members.

First spotted by VideoGamer, the bizarre changeover blocked non-Prime members from purchasing select games through the online giant. As such, the likes of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Rainbow Six Siege — along with that aforementioned trio — were no longer available to buy through Amazon directly, meaning those non-Prime members affected would have to purchase said titles through third-party retailers.

According to the report, the changes to “Prime-exclusive items” occurred overnight, with Amazon releasing the following statement in response to VideoGamer’s findings:

“One of the many benefits of Amazon Prime is access to exclusive selection on a number of great products. Customers who are not Prime members can sign-up for a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime, or they can purchase those items from a Marketplace seller.”

Since then, Amazon has rolled back the supposed changes, ensuring that the titles affected are available to customers irrespective of the Prime membership. A screenshot, below, indicates the restriction that was in place for most of today on Amazon UK.
