Now that development on The Witcher 3 is winding down in anticipation of the release of Blood and Wine, developer CD Projekt Red is beginning to lay the foundations for its follow-up project, Cyberpunk 2077.
But before production can begin in earnest, the studio has revealed programmers will spend time overhauling the internal dev tools, and only then will official work get underway.
That’s according to one team member who spoke with iDigitalTimes during last weekend’s PAX East 2016, revealing that:
“The most important thing that’s happening at the moment is that the programmers are taking the feedback we gave them from working on The Witcher . As cliche as it sounds it was a big learning experience,” he said, explaining that by the end of the development everyone had a list of features they wanted for new dev tools. “The programmers are updating our software quite drastically.”
Following in the footsteps of The Witcher 3 means that Cyberpunk 2077 has to “be f**king great,” and it would appear that a premiere isn’t too far away.
That said, Cyberpunk 2077 is without a release date at the time of writing.
