America crumbles in today’s cinematic trailer for Homefront: The Revolution, while a new featurette released by developer Dambuster Studios spotlights the malevolent APEX corporation.
Pitched as a complete reboot of the cult shooter series, The Revolution is situated in occupied Philadelphia, where advanced North Korean forces have descended onto American soil. It’s a setup that paves the way for intense guerrilla warfare, and much of that premise is outlined in the brooding cinematic above.
Meanwhile, the official synopsis for the shooter sequel-cum-reboot reads as so:
It tells the story of how North Korea rose from the ashes of the Korean War to become a dominant world power, and ultimately occupy a fallen America. Homefront: The Revolution is a complete reboot of the franchise, and features a brand new backstory based on an alternate history in which Korea won the technological arms race thanks to the rise of the sinister APEX corporation.
