Persona 5 Countdown to End With Special Livestream

Late last week, Atlus set the Persona fanbase on red alert after posting a countdown timer that’s set to expire on Thursday, May 5. Now, we have a better understanding as to what that timer is forecasting.

According to an update posted on the studio’s website, Atlus plans to host a NicoNico presentation on May 5, right around the time that that countdown clock is due to end. It promises “all new information” relating to the long-awaited JRPG, though exactly what the livestream will herald is still up for question.

Currently on course for a 2016 release, the announcement of a Persona 5 launch date seems all but guaranteed. Whether Atlus plans to nail down release plans for Japan and/or western territories, however, is another question.

Persona 5 is expected to launch across PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 at some stage in 2016. Expect Atlus to zero in on an official release date — be it Japanese or international — on May 5 at 8:30 am ET.
