Square Enix Reports Strong Financial Results as Net Sales and Net Income Rise

Square Enix recently published its financial results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2016, and the results are very positive.

The company’s net sales for the period amounted to ¥214 billion, an increase of 27.5 percent from the previous year. Additionally, net income totaled ¥19.9 billion, representing an increase of 102 percent. Among top performers for the financial year were Rise of the Tomb Raider and Just Cause 3. However, Square Enix hasn’t released specific sales numbers for either of the two.

We’re also told that the company’s MMOs including Final Fantasy XIV and Dragon Quest X have established a stable revenue base, and will “maintain stable operation through implementation of various offerings.” However, net sales for MMOs are likely to decrease year on year because no expansion packs are scheduled to release in the current financial year.

As reported earlier today, Square Enix’s major titles set for release in the current fiscal year include Final Fantasy XV, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4). For the full list, head over here.
