Action RPG Moon Hunters Coming to PS4 This July, No Word on PS Vita Version

Initially announced in September 2014, action RPG Moon Hunters by Kitfox Games is all set to release on the PlayStation 4 on July 12. The game was meant to release during Winter 2015 but ended up undergoing a series of changes, causing a delay. According to Creative Director Tanya Short, there are still quite a few tweaks left to make but the developer is confident that work will be completed in time for the new release date. Over on PlayStation Blog, she wrote:

The game itself has changed a lot since the original concept, but the whole time, we’ve been driven by this fascination with “mythology,” and what it means for a person to become a legend. We knew we wanted to make a “party game”-style RPG, about 45 minutes long each session. So rather than make each session epic in and of itself, we ended up focusing on the constellations and legends you create, which are saved across playthroughs.

In case you don’t remember, Moon Hunters is set in a fantastical ancient Mesopotamia, with players tasked with figuring out what happened to the moon that has gone missing. The 1-to-4-player, mythology-building title crushed its Kickstarter goal back in 2014. You can check out the initial trailer and details here.

There’s no word on the previously announced PS Vita version.
