See How Vita Handles Dragon Quest Heroes II

Dragon Quest Heroes II came out in Japan this past Friday, perfectly in time for the franchise’s 30th anniversary. YouTube user syaazaku2000 grants us a half-hour look at the Vita version. Because the original Dragon Quest Heroes didn’t come to Vita, this is the spinoff’s first appearance on a handheld. If you’re like me, you woke up in a ditch this morning and also wondered what it would look like and how it would play. Check the video above to have some of your questions answered.

It’s in the early going, so there’s a lot of tutorial stuff, but hey, no one’s stopping you from clicking around different places on the time bar.

I just got the PS4 version of this from Play-Asia and will write a little play report of my own in the near future.

There has not been an official release date announcement for Dragon Quest Heroes II: The Twin Kings and the Prophecy’s End in North America or Europe, but if Square Enix makes such an announcement, we’ll let you know. If it does come westward (which I expect, given the success of the original), I’d predict the PS4 version comes as the predecessor did, and the Vita version arrives in digital-only form, like what’s happening with Dragon Quest Builders.
