Nihon Falcom is ready to tell you about fishing in its upcoming Vita and PS4 action RPG Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. Players can cast their lines out along in many places where they find a river, or along the shores of the game’s home island.
The gameplay system behind fishing sounds very basic: use the directional-pad to begin fishing, stick to cast out, then button mash if you get a bite. Fill up a progress bar with your button mashes and you’ve caught yourself a fish.
Players are advised to switch up the character they use to fish, because each character has different types of fish can catch. So while one character might catch fish like he is one, most will be common types; another character might have a harder time getting a bite, but the catches have a higher chance of being rare, valuable fish.
Be careful, as well, because you might just pull in a fish that’s looking for a fight!
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana comes to PlayStation Vita this July in Japan, while the PS4 version will arrive in 2017. Foreign release dates are not unrealistic to expect, but they have not been formally announced at this time.
