Opening 10 Minutes of Street Fighter V Story Mode Emerges Online (Spoiler Warning)

On the heels of yesterday’s info dump, which outlined the contents included in the imminent expansion, a clip showcasing the opening 10 minutes of Street Fighter V‘s Story Mode has now appeared online. If you’re conscious of avoiding spoilers, avert thy eyes!

Entitled A Shadow Falls, the free add-on is expected to arrive later this month as part of the brawler’s much-touted June update. It’ll bundle together five narrative chapters, with players able to control any character on the SFV roster, including DLC fighters such as Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Urien, and Juri.

Bear in mind that as Balrog, Urien, and Juri won’t be out until later in 2016, they “shouldn’t be considered final or tournament ready, as they still need to be properly polished and balanced,” and should instead be considered as a free preview.

Elsewhere, details regarding the Story Expansion have began to surface on NeoGAF, where one user relayed comments made by Capcom’s Senior Director of Digital Platforms. According to the executive, all cutscenes included in the add-on are rendered in real-time, meaning there won’t be any pre-rendered or pre-recorded footage.

When it comes to those five chapters, it’s understood each slice of content will be divided into several sub-chapters, and you’ll “be able to select any sub-chapter from the chapter select menu upon completion. For example, if you want to experiment with ‘Rog or Juri’s move set again, you can jump right back into that segment.”

Street Fighter V‘s June update is expected to arrive towards the end of the month, and we’ll keep you updated if and when Capcom zeroes in on an official due date.
