Saw the Warcraft movie? Yeah, apparently you’re not the only one. It seems Warcraft is now the highest grossing video game movie of all time!
Warcraft has now raked in $377 million, which means it has dethroned former champ — Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time — which managed to pull in $336 million. Third is Sony’s movie adaptation of Angry Birds, which is now sitting at $327 million.
With an estimated budget of $160 million (unsure if this sum already includes marketing costs), the Warcraft flick seems to have done the most damage outside the US, with $339 million in ticket sales said to have come from the international market.
Have you seen Warcraft yet? What did you make of it? I gather, this means we’re going to see a movie sequel regardless if we asked for one or not.
