Filing Spotted for PS4 Wireless Adapter for PC

DualShockers discovered a filing with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for a bluetooth PS4 wireless adapter for the DualShock 4. Since the PlayStation 4 is already bluetooth-enabled, this is most likely support for the PC. Both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers already have wireless support for the PC, so it only makes sense for the PlayStation 4 to follow suit.

A new PlayStation 4 filing has emerged which looks like a Bluetooth wireless DualShock 4 adapter and includes the following drawing of the device:

It’s also possible that this is a wireless adapter for headsets for the PS4. For now, only so many bluetooth headsets will work with the PlayStation 4, and some companies have created adapters so the console will work with their particular brand. Sony could be looking for a way to get in on that action and create an adapter to work with any wireless headset.

Of course, all of this is pure speculation. Most of the documentation in the filing is confidential, forcing all of us to wait until Sony makes an official announcement. According to the FCC documentation, the confidentiality release date isn’t until January 2, 2017. We have awhile to wait, indeed.

Do you have any ideas? Something for PlayStation 4 Neo? What about PlayStation VR?
