During Comic-Con, Ubisoft released a behind-the-scenes video for South Park: The Fractured But Whole featuring South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
At the end of the video, Parker and Stone reveal that The Butthole of Time was the original title of The Fractured But Whole, but they were told a game with ‘butthole’ in the name wouldn’t be accepted by retailers:
It was originally called The Butthole of Time. They ran it past the whatever and they said you can’t put Butthole of Time – the retailers won’t put butthole on a shelf – so I just sat there at my desk for hours like butthole, butthole, butt, butt hole, butt hole… But Whole!
There will be a Season Pass for The Fractured But Whole and, based on what Parker and Stone said in an interview at Comic-Con, the post-launch DLC could include two additional adventures. “We actually came up with two things that we were like — from the beginning — that would be really sweet,” Parker said. “But it almost feels like a little bit of a different story, so… But that’s a perfect example of something that’s like, yeah, let’s do that. Let’s make it cool, and then it can be DLC to keep the game going.”
Ubisoft also revealed that GameStop will be exclusively selling a Fart Pillow:
Ubisoft presents the South Park: The Fractured But Whole fart pillow. Place it on your couch and watch your friend’s and family’s reactions as they unknowingly sit and activate the fart sounds. Featuring fan favorite character “The Coon” on its soft boa plush appliqué.
Pricing and release date details for the Fart Pillow weren’t revealed.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole releases on December 6 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Pre-ordering it gets you a free copy of South Park: The Stick of Truth.
