Tricky Towers Confirmed for August 2 Release on PS4 & PC, Is a PS+ Title

With the announcement that Tricky Towers is one of the PlayStation Plus free games next month, developer WeirdBeard has confirmed that their multiplayer physics-based tower building game will be released on August 2 in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4 and PC.

Featuring local and online multiplayer for two to four players, the goal in Tricky Towers is to stack your bricks to create a stable tower and try to topple your opponents. To help you with this, there are 17 light and dark magic spells you can use to support your structure or block the spells of others.

In terms of content, you’ll find 50 single-player trials, a single-player endless mode with leaderboards, and three different multiplayer modes (race, survival, and puzzle):

Race

In race mode you must build a tower tall enough to reach the finish line before your opponents do. But don’t stop and celebrate too soon — your tower has to remain upright for three seconds before you’ll be crowned as the winner!

Survival

Survivor mode is all about building a safe, stable tower. Each time you drop tetrominoes your character will lose a life. Lose all your lives and you’re out! Survivor mode is a tricky balance of building to protect your own tower while trying to cast spells that will tumble the towers of your opponents. There are also rumors of the survival world being a tad haunted…

Puzzle

All about fitting as many bricks as you can below a destructive laser line. Smart building wins over fast building in Puzzle mode, so if you’re looking for something a bit more zen then this is the mode for you.

WeirdBeard CEO Niels Monshouwer said:

While showing our demo at events we noticed that Tricky Towers is really good at bringing people together. New players start to explain and discuss tactics with complete strangers and “veterans” of a few rounds will excitedly teach newer players what to do before handing over their controller and stepping back in line.

A price for non-PS+ members wasn’t given.
