Disney Infinity Online Services Shutting Down, Console Versions to Remain Playable

Having announced the demise of Disney Infinity earlier this year, the company has now offered a detailed schedule of when its online services for the series will be shutting down. While the console versions and its patches will remain playable following the closure, we’ve learned that all other versions of the game including PC will no longer be playable starting September 30, 2016.

According to a post on the Disney Infinity website:

• The console versions of Disney Infinity will continue to operate as usual with full access to figures and play sets only with the exception of community content features and online multiplayer.

After September 30, no new Toy Box submissions will be reviewed for any platform including consoles and after March 3, 2017, you will no longer be able to download Toy Boxes from the Community Content section.

Elsewhere in the FAQs, Disney noted:

  • Progress that is saved on the console versions of Disney Infinity prior to March 3, 2017 will not be affected once the online services are discontinued.
  • The console and PS Vita versions of the game will be playable and have access to updates via first party platforms, with the exception of the Community Content features and online multiplayer.
