Layers of Fear Dev Says VR Possibility Is Still Alive, Details Upcoming DLC

In a recent interview with Gameranx, Layers of Fear team’s PR Manager Rafał Basaj, revealed a slew of new details regarding the games upcoming Inheritance DLC, including the fact that Blooper team is still keeping the VR option alive.

However, like many developers already know, it’s not that easy to just port a game to VR. Bansaij revealed that “a lot of people keep asking for” it, but “there are many obstacles that need to be tackled for the game to work properly in Virtual Reality, examples include fluent movement and the feeling of naturally traversing the  world.”

Layers of Fear VR is something a lot of people keep asking for. However, porting a game to VR is not simple, there are many obstacles that need to be tackled for the game to work properly in Virtual Reality, examples include fluent movement, and the feeling of naturally traversing the  world,  without  your  brain  shouting  “something’s not  right  here,  I better  switch  on barfing mode just in case;” to things like issues with the  User  Interface  and  preserving  a constant   frame   rate   without   losing   graphic quality. We are constantly researching the technology, finding ways to improve both the performance and the overall feeling of playing in virtual reality. Where will it lead us? Who knows?

Basaij also revealed that the upcoming DLC will take gamers about 4 to 6 hours to complete. In addition, there will be 6 new songs added to the soundtrack; Basaij also notes that players should finish the main game before jumping into the DLC.

Layers of Fear’s Inheritance DLC releases on August 2 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
