Civilization VI is releasing on October 21 for PC and Mac, but developer Firaxis Games doesn’t have any plans to bring it to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One right now.
Speaking with Stevivor, Associate Producer Sarah Darney said they think Civilization VI is best suited for PC:
We don’t have plans to release Civilization VI on consoles at this time. As a studio, we’re very proud of the games we’ve made that have succeeded on console, but we feel that the PC is the platform where Civilization VI fits the best.
Civilization games have come to PlayStation in the past, with Civilization Revolution hitting PS3 back in 2008, and Civilization Revolution 2 Plus releasing earlier this year for PS Vita.
Another Firaxis Games title, XCOM 2, was previously only available for PC, but it’s coming to PS4 and Xbox One on September 6.
