On the No Man’s Sky support page, Hello Games said they’re aware of some of the issues players are having with the PlayStation 4 version of the game, and they’ll begin working diligently on a patch after the PC version is released tomorrow:
Hello everyone. Firstly, THANK YOU for picking up No Man’s Sky! It’s amazing so many of you are playing the game right now.
If you’ve had trouble with the game, please know we are aware of some issues and will be working towards a patch for the PS4 version as soon as possible for the most common ones.
We can’t give you an ETA as frustrating as that is, because we’re also still working to get the PC release live! I know we’ve said this before, but our small team will continue to work on this game so we appreciate the patience the community has already shown us.
Currently, these are the known issues Hello Games is working towards fixing:
- People who have pre-ordered the game and want to redeem their special items may not be seeing them because they are named differently in the game.
- The Alpha Vector ship is named Domanish S84 in-game, and (in the US) the Rezosu AZ65 is named Final Shadow XIV in game. (if you still don’t see them please contact support as per above)
If you’ve been experiencing any issues in No Man’s Sky, you can email Hello Games at support@hellogames.co.uk. Asking players not to send repeat emails as it slows down the process, they add, “If you can give us as much detail about the problem as possible eg: how often it happens, what happens, where, any error codes and the things you’ve tried to fix it already, it will help speed up the process of investigation.”
The PC version of No Man’s Sky will be available on Friday at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm BST. Unlike PS4, pre-loads won’t be available.
In terms of post-launch content, Hello Games will be adding the ability to build bases and own giant space freighters in the near future. Afterwards, they’re planning on bringing some visual enhancements.
