Destiny: Rise of Iron Crucible Livestream Happening on August 16 at 10am PT

Bungie has confirmed that their next Destiny: Rise of Iron livestream will take place on Tuesday, August 16 at 10am PT/1pm ET during gamescom 2016.

In the Twitch stream, Bungie’s Steve Cotton and Lars Bakken will discuss the new game modes, maps, and features coming to the Crucible. Additionally, a new Bungie ViDoc will “explore the entire Rise of Iron player experience,” offering new glimpses of Felwinter Peak and the Plaguelands.

Also on August 16, Bungie will be taking Destiny offline for maintenance beginning at 9am PT to prepare for the September 20 launch of Rise of Iron. An end time for the maintenance is currently unknown, but it should be around 12pm PT.

“We did not,” Bungie said in response to a question about whether they scheduled the maintenance when they did to boost stream viewership. “These are the machinations of progress. Sometimes, everything happens all at once. Do us a huge favor and help spread the word, though. There will always be Guardians who don’t receive this warning.”

Finally, Bungie announced that the next Iron Banner will run from August 16 until August 23 at 2am PT. The game is Clash and “Saladin will have a fistful of Bounties to help you get into character.”

If you’re attending gamescom, Destiny will be playable at the Sony booth in Hall 7, but Bungie isn’t saying what you’ll be able to play.
