Ubisoft announced at gamescom earlier today a new Watch Dogs 2 multiplayer mode when the game releases later this year, Bounty Hunter mode. Watch Dogs 2 will have an online element that is reportedly “seamlessly integrated” with the single-player campaign. With the Bounty Hunter mode, if one player creates too much heat and triggers the police to call in for Bounty Hunter assistance, up to three other players can hunt down this target. Players can trigger a bounty on themselves if they wish on Marcus’ in-game phone.
Bounty Hunter mode isn’t the only Watch Dogs 2 multiplayer component. Hacking Invasion from the original Watch Dogs will return to the sequel. The goal of this player-vs-player (PvP) mode is to download data from a target player without being detected. Hacking Invasion and Bounty Hunter mode can also be played with a friend co-operatively.
Players can also team up in online co-op to explore the Bay Area or tackle co-op missions. The trailer above shows all of it in action.
Watch Dogs 2 will release on November 16, 2016 for PlayStation 4. PlayStation players also have 30-day exclusive access to all post-launch content. For a bit more on Watch Dogs 2, check out our hands-on preview from E3 earlier this year.
