The latest entry in the long-running, and highly successful, Resident Evil film franchise has received a brand new trailer! Called Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, the teaser trailer, which you can watch above courtesy of Screen Gems, has been released before the film’s appearance at the New York Comic Con this Friday. The 80-second video shows star Milla Jovovich and other characters from the upcoming film.
This trailer is only a teaser, though, as more information will be revealed at Screen Gems’ Resident Evil: The Final Chapter panel. Taking place tomorrow, October 7, at 1:30pm, the panel will show additional footage and feature interviews with director Paul W.S. Anderson and actress Milla Jovovich. Fans attending the New York Comic Con can feel free to check it out in person.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter takes place directly after the last Resident Evil film (Resident Evil Retribution). With humanity barely hanging onto existence, Alice must return to Raccoon City to battle once again with the evil Umbrella Corporation. As The Final Chapter subtitle would suggest, this looks to end the current film storyline. Although, with such a popular series, you can never be sure that the end is actually the end.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is set to release in theaters next year, and will come out January 27, 2017.
Will you be checking out Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in theaters or are you waiting for a Blu-Ray release? Also, are you sad that the franchise is finally ending? Let us know in the comments below!
