Report Points to Diablo 4 Unveiling at BlizzCon

Earlier today, Eurogamer compiled a report claiming that Blizzard is on the verge of unveiling Diablo 4 at the imminent BlizzCon 2016.

Citing a rather peculiar Diablo-themed die from the BlizzCon goody pack — a die that allegedly features two ones and a four, aligning with the event’s November 4 start date if written out in date format — and Tweets made by series veteran David Brevik, the outlet stipulated that Blizzard has been quietly laying the groundwork for a full reveal. To begin with, Brevik took to Twitter to reflect on his time with the Diablo series, seemingly indicating that he was prepping for an announcement.

Adding fuel to the fire was the picture he chose to attach to the Tweet, showcasing the Libra star constellation.

Digging a little deeper, many had assumed that the zodiac message indicated an announcement was coming, but it appears that’s not the case after all. Cutting through speculation, Brevik posted a follow-up Tweet to play down rumors that he was actively working on the Diablo franchise.

A red herring? Or is talk of Diablo 4 still premature? BlizzCon 2016 kicks off in earnest on Friday, November 4.
