A Beyond Good & Evil game is officially in pre-production over at Ubisoft and if a new report is to be believed, we now have a few intriguing morsels to dissect regarding the long-rumored follow-up.
Put together by LetsPlayVideoGames (via NeoGAF), it’s claimed that series creator Michael Ancel is at the helm of the title, one that is being angled as a semi-reboot as opposed to a bona fide sequel. That means Beyond Good & Evil will likely come packing a subtitle when it allegedly launches in the summer of 2018, after the showcase of a CG trailer to coincide with the upcoming Nintendo NX reveal.
It’s here that the Big N will purportedly confirm Beyond Good & Evil 2 — or whatever title Ancel and Co. settle on — to be an NX exclusive. Here’s an extract from the report:
According to our source, the currently planned direction for the game is that it will partially retell Jade’s origin tale from Beyond Good & Evil, flesh out Peyj’s backstory, then continue to extrapolate on the ending of the original game. Additionally, we have learned from a separate source that there are plans for a new CG trailer for the game to be shown alongside the NX reveal.
