All of the teasing has come to an end, with Rockstar Games having finally revealed its latest project to be Red Dead Redemption 2. The team announced the game’s title, along with news of a trailer coming Thursday, October 20 at 11AM ET. What’s more, a release window of Fall 2017 has also been confirmed.
The official description for the game reads:
Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently confirmed to be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as seen at the bottom of the game’s official page. Perhaps PC fans will see some love at a later date, as was the case with Grand Theft Auto V.
What do you make of this big reveal? Happy to see a sequel, rather than a remaster? How about that line describing a “brand new online multiplayer experience.” We know GTA Online has been super successful, so I guess it’s a no-brainer for Rockstar to focus on that in RDR2.
