PSN Maintenance Scheduled for October 25, 2016

The latest monthly PlayStation Network maintenance is taking place on October 25, Sony revealed today.

Updating their PSN Status Page, Sony says the next PSN maintenance will take place from 10:30pm PT until 11:30pm PT on Tuesday, October 25. They’ll be using the time for “routine maintenance and improvements for PlayStation Network.”

During the maintenance, you’ll be able to sign in to your PSN account, play games, and use most applications. However, you won’t be able to access Account Management, PlayStation Video, or the PlayStation Store. As always, Sony recommends activating your PS4 as primary by going to Settings, then Account Management, and then Activate as Your Primary PS4.

“We strive to ensure that PlayStation Network services are available at all times, but occasionally we must take PlayStation Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements,” their maintenance message adds. “We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance.”

If you haven’t used your PS4 in a couple of weeks, update 4.01 is now live. Here’s what it changed:

  • The voice chat feature in parties has been improved for some circumstances.
  • This system software update improves the quality of the system performance.

When the next PS4 system update goes live, we’ll let you know.
