Just like they did with Activision and Call of Duty, Sony has signed a partnership with Rockstar Games for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 4. The partnership has already begun, as the new trailer revealed today was captured on PS4.
With Sony’s John Koller saying there’s “no better place to play” Red Dead Redemption 2 than on PlayStation, he adds that it’s “hand crafted to take full advantage of PS4.” Also, thanks to the partnership, “PS4 players get first access to earn select online content in the vast open world of Red Dead Redemption 2.”
If a newly registered domain is anything to go by, Red Dead Redemption 2’s “brand new online multiplayer experience” will be called Red Dead Online, similar to how Grand Theft Auto V’s online multiplayer is called Grand Theft Auto Online.
To help kill the time until Red Dead Redemption 2 releases in fall 2017, the original Red Dead Redemption will be available on PlayStation Now “soon,” letting you play it on PS4, PS3, PS Vita, PC, and more. Red Dead Revolver, meanwhile, recently released on PS4.
