Dishonored 2 Goes Gold, PS4 & PC Pre-Loading Begins November 8

Launching on November 11, Dishonored 2 has officially gone gold, Arkane Studios and Bethesda announced today. This means development is complete and it will launch as planned next Friday (or on Thursday, November 10 if you pre-order).

If you have Dishonored 2 pre-ordered, PlayStation 4 and PC pre-loading begins on Tuesday, November 8 (Xbox One pre-loading has already begun). Bethesda also revealed that there will be a day one update for Dishonored 2 – which they suggest you download – but they didn’t say how big it would be or what’s included with it.

Here’s what Bethesda said about Dishonored 2 going gold:

Prepare for your visit to Karnaca and get ready to take back what’s yours with Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano. Will you choose a stealthy, non-lethal approach? Or will you create chaos and leave a trail of blood and bodies in your wake? Are you going to accept the Mark of the Outsider and battle your foes with the help of otherworldly powers? Or will you reject the Outsider and rely instead on flesh and steel – along with your wits and the environment – to get by? Whatever you choose, we are excited to see all of the ways you will play Dishonored 2.

For those who decide to play as Corvo in Dishonored 2, you’ll find an older, more experienced, and wiser man. Creative Director Harvey Smith said, “Corvo is like a man reflecting on the winter of his life. He’s both the badass supernatural assassin we wanted him to be, and he’s very thoughtful.” Lead Designer Dinga Bakaba added, “Corvo comes back with all his classic powers, made more active and more beautiful through our new engine technology, and each is also improved from a game design perspective.”

As a reminder, Dishonored 2 review copies won’t be send out to reviewers until the day before launch.
