PSN Toolbar Opens up Access to Friends, Messages via Browser

Sony has launched the new PSN toolbar, a remote hub that allows you to interact with PlayStation Network friends and messages using your online browser. You can even check in on party invitations, too.

Available from today via the Playstation.com home site, PS Blog has posted a detailed overview of the toolbar, which presents you with a mini-profile of your PSN. Essentially, the feature “makes it easier to stay connected when you’re away from your console.”

Your Friends list will be fully accessible via the toolbar, giving you a snapshot of which friends are online before you hop into a game. The Messages tab includes the ability to send and receive stickers, images, text, and voice messages all from the web. You’ll also be able to keep track of friend requests, Party invitations, and game invitations from the Notifications tab until you can get to your console.

In related news, the platform-holder has rolled out a new sizzle reel for PlayStation Plus, this time touting the service’s multiplayer to conicide with the launch of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
