Yesterday, Reddit user Tripleh280 posted an image taken on the subway in Montreal showing the potential name of the next Tomb Raider game: Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Following the discovery of the game title, Kotaku was told from a source that Shadow of the Tomb Raider is indeed the name of the next entry in the series. Additionally, Kotaku and Eurogamer have heard that Eidos Montreal (Thief, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided) is leading development on the next Tomb Raider game, rather than Crystal Dynamics (Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider).
As Eurgamer adds – and the recent hiring of Ian Milham seems to back up – Crystal Dynamics is still working on the Tomb Raider franchise, suggesting that two Tomb Raider games are currently in development.
Although Shadow of the Tomb Raider appears to be the name of the game being worked on at Eidos Montreal, keep in mind that it’s subject to change as development progresses.
