With less than two days until Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare goes live, Activision and Infinity Ward have offered up some details on two of the campaign difficulty modes you can unlock.
First up is Specialist Mode, which is unlocked after beating the game on any difficulty. “Intensely realistic and not for the faint of heart,” Specialist Mode’s difficulty is set to Hardened, you can only heal with Nano Shots (there’s no health regeneration), helmets take permanent damage and need to be replaced, Nano Shots and helmets take up equipment spots, getting shot in the legs impacts your movement, getting shot in either arm impacts your ability to use equipment or aim down sights, and getting shot in the hands could cause you to drop your weapon.
If you make it through Specialist Mode, YOLO Mode will be unlocked. With difficulty set to Hardened, you only live once in this mode, and if you die, you start all the way back at the beginning of the game.
The Infinite Warfare campaign includes optional side missions, which allow you to earn upgrades that remain throughout successive playthroughs. For Suit Upgrades, you can expect faster reloading, less flinch, faster health regen, enhanced focus, an Electro Knife, and more. For Jackal Upgrades, you’ll find new weapons, better thrusters, stronger armor, and more.
Activision also suggested that you locate weapon armories:
In most of the Story missions and the Ship Assault Missions, you can find weapon armories that will yield great rewards. Each armory can contain additional weaponry, including unique items like the “Eraser” gun that vaporizes enemies with a single blast. Try it in conjunction with the Shield for some great synergy.
Every armory also contains an Equipment Upgrade Console that will upgrade a piece of your lethal or tactical gear. These upgrades, along with any weapons you find, will be at your disposal for the rest of the campaign, so it is worth hunting down each and every armory for the ultimate loadout.
Previously said to only be included inside Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the Jackal Assault VR Experience for PlayStation VR is now going to be free for everyone when it goes live on November 4. Putting you in the cockpit of a Jackal, the VR Experience will be available through the PlayStation Store beginning on Friday.
As a reminder, buying a PS4 Slim on either November 4 or November 5 will net you a free copy of Infinite Warfare.
Will you attempt YOLO Mode?
