My Name is Mayo Is a $1 PS4 & PS Vita Game With A Painfully Easy Platinum

Released yesterday for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in North America (no word on Europe), My Name is Mayo is “a clicking adventure that simulates the real-life tapping of a Mayo Jar.” What makes My Name is Mayo truly interesting is that it’s priced at $1, is a 44MB/76MB download, and has 51 Trophies to unlock – including a Platinum.

Even with 51 Trophies (four of which are Gold), players have reported that they unlocked the Platinum in as little as 25 minutes. On Exophase, 154 of the 179 registered players have already grabbed the Platinum. Here’s a look at just some of the Trophies in My Name is Mayo:

  • Elephant fun times! (Gold) – Feline Ketchup. (Hit this 500 times)
  • A Mime? (Gold) – In the end… (Hit this 50 times)
  • An ingredient to rule them all (Gold) – Hit 10000 times!
  • *The Crow movie pun* (Bronze) – Hit 8000 times!
  • Topless! (Bronze) – Keep wearing the leopard (Hit this 100 times)

As the official description and list of features show, My Name is Mayo is just a game about a mayo jar:

In one of the Steam reviews for My Name is Mayo, a player said, “You pay a dollar to click on a jar of mayo 10,000 times for achievements. There are costumes to put on the jar. That’s it. That’s the whole game.” Overall, there’s 1,800 Steam reviews and the response is Very Positive.

If you’re a PS Vita owner looking for another $1 game with a Platinum Trophy, Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom recently dropped to $0.99.

Are you surprised that Sony allowed a $1 game to have a Platinum Trophy, when many other more expensive games don’t have one?
