The Last Guardian 4K PS4 Pro Support Confirmed, New Gameplay Videos Released

When The Last Guardian launches on December 6 in North America and December 7 in Europe, it will support PlayStation 4 Pro and HDR on all PS4 systems. According to Eurogamer, the support will be added through a game update, and The Last Guardian will upscale to 4K and bring “minor performance improvements” on PS4 Pro.

With less than a month until release, Sony brought out a new gameplay trailer, titled Discover the Legend. “From Japan Studio comes an unforgettable story of comradeship, trust and extraordinary adventures in a strange, mystical land,” the description adds. “When a young boy meets a colossal, mysterious creature named Trico, the pair form a deep, unbreakable bond that will help them survive amongst the crumbling ruins and malevolent dangers that surround them.”

There were also some new gameplay videos published today by Eurogamer and GameSpot:

In an interview with GameSpot, designer Fumito Ueda was asked about some of the unexpected stuff fans might find in The Last Guardian:

I can’t reveal too much. But for example: Trico is your partner character in The Last Guardian. But Trico is not just your cute partner that’s going to be there and help you out. There are real moments that you would expect if you had an animal in your real life. It’s not always going to be cute and cuddly and perfect. There are moments when they will be acting out, or they will have their natural behavior come out.

The Last Guardian recently completed manufacturing, and Ueda unboxed the first copy with Geoff Keighley.
