Final Fantasy XV Update 1.01 Is Reportedly 7GB, Details Coming Next Week

With early copies of Final Fantasy XV going out to players ahead of the November 29 release date, it’s been reported that the day one update is 7.24GB on PlayStation 4.

According to an image from Twitter user Lord Kelsen (who also posted an image of the Deluxe Edition, which you can see getting unboxed over here), Final Fantasy XV update 1.01 is 7.24GB. While details of the update weren’t given by Lord Kelsen, Square Enix went on Twitter to say that they’ll provide more information on Monday:

We’ve important news Monday about further enhancements and upgrades the dev team have added to #FFXV for release day on 29th November.

#FFXV went gold, but the development team wanted to carry on working and add extra features, so we’ll tell you about them next week.

These extra features will be available as an automatic download from launch day and we think you’ll really enjoy them.

As you may recall, Final Fantasy XV was delayed by two months so Square Enix could add the day one patch, “as well as some extra things on top of that,” to the final game. At the time, Game Director Hajime Tabata said this would give all players the “ultimate quality version.” Judging by Square Enix’s tweets today, the 7GB day one update is more about new features, rather than bug fixes.

If you’re getting a digital copy of Final Fantasy XV, pre-loads of the Xbox One version suggest it will be just under 51GB.
