Update 2 (1:45pm PT): The PSN Status Page says everything is back up and running.

Update: Right after publishing this story, Sony updated the PSN Status Page to say that everything is currently experiencing issues, including Gaming and Social and the PlayStation Store:

Gaming & Social (PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Web)

You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.

PlayStation Store (PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Web)

You may have some difficulty accessing features and products on the PlayStation Store. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.

Ask PlayStation also acknowledged the outage, saying, “We’re aware that some users are experiencing issues logging into PSN. Thanks for your patience as we investigate.”

When more updates are available, we’ll let you know.

Original Story (1pm PT): According to multiple reports on Twitter, Reddit, and NeoGAF, the PlayStation Network is currently down on PlayStation 4, with maintenance messages popping up when trying to access the PlayStation Store.

On Sony’s PSN Status Page, they say everything’s up and running, but Down Detector is already tracking over 2,400 PSN down reports from players. 67% of players report sign-in issues, while the rest is split between gameplay and the PlayStation Store.

The Kaz Hirai parody account said, “We have started our annual Black Friday PSN deals 3 days early! We have also started our annual Black Friday PSN outage 3 days early.”

If Sony acknowledges the PSN being down for some right now, we’ll let you know.
