Releasing on December 1 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, The Dwarves is a tactical fantasy RPG from King Art Games. In an interview with WCCFTech, King Art Games revealed that the console resolution is 1080p and they’re aiming for 30 frames-per-second on both PS4 and Xbox One.
On PS4 Pro, The Dwarves will have a “solid performance increase,” but the resolution will remain at 1080p. “Since even high-powered computers struggle with a solid frame rate at 4K resolution in 3D games, you shouldn’t expect better graphics (better shadows, etc.) and 4K,” the developer said. They later added, “We support the PS4 Pro with a focus on performance improvements. Frame-rate will be higher, but the native resolution will stay at 1080p.”
Since HDR (high dynamic range) wasn’t introduced to them until very late in development, King Art Games has decided not to implement it.
King Art Games also said The Dwarves takes around 15 hours to defeat on medium difficulty the first time through, there’s many optional quests and different ways to get to the end, they don’t have any current plans for post-launch content (free stuff could be added if the game’s a success), and they’d love to a The Dwarves 2, but it all depends on the success of the first game.
