If a friend or family member already has a game, then giving them an add-on is the perfect way to help them maximize their fun. Some of the best games of last year were made even better thanks to post-launch support. Plus, most of these games have been repackaged to include the DLC with the base game itself.

2016 Gift Guide DLC/Expansions
Black Ops III: Eclipse
In our review , we said "Eclipse didn’t do the two things that I was hoping for the most after I played Awakening (more focus on water in multiplayer and a return to the Shadows of Evil cast in Zombies), but Treyarch still managed to put together on awesome package with the maps that they included. While I’m still crossing my fingers that my wishlist will be fulfilled in one of the two upcoming packs, Eclipse is an excellent content offering that doesn’t harbor any significant negatives. If you’ve been holding out on the Season Pass waiting for Treyarch to prove themselves, I think we can be pretty certain that they’ll deliver."
Destiny: Rise of Iron
In our review , we said "With the long term in mind, Rise of Iron is a great addition to Destiny . They’ve embedded secrets, past references, and nostalgia in ways that few other games can, because few other games retain this strong of a community for years following their initial release. One thing I talked about in my vanilla Destiny review was the moments I created as a player. It wasn’t about the story Destiny was telling to me (as little of that as there was), but the story that I created for myself and the group of players that I play with. We made our own moments, some that we still talk about today, and Rise of Iron seemed to bring back those feelings of creating a personal narrative for me and my fireteams as we navigated the likes of Felwinter Peak, the new raid, the Plaguelands, and corpse filled chaos of Supremacy. Destiny is the player’s story and Rise of Iron continues to make me feel like a legend in my own right, even if at the moment it holds a little less endgame vitality than other releases have offered."
King’s Quest Chapter 5: The Good Knight
In our review , we said "The Good Knight is a satisfying conclusion to a story a year and a half in the making. Some of the puzzle mechanics may not be quite as intuitive or engaging as previous episodes, but the finale puts some heavy subjects on the table to analyze, most notably mortality and the culmination of our own life’s work and moments, and what we’ll leave behind at the end. It gives a wistful look back at the adventures and critical junctures that made Graham the man he was over the course of the king’s life — a king’s quest, if you will."
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Blood and Wine
In our review , we said "Blood and Wine by itself would set the bar high for games in general, but as an expansion it is entirely unrivaled. CD Projekt RED have closed out Geralt’s story with an incredible finale to a game that handily won our Game of the Year award for 2015. Blood and Wine takes The Witcher 3 and expands, evolves, and turns conventions on their heads for a fantastic adventure that not only is a must-buy as DLC, but makes The Witcher 3 even more of a must-own game for those that don’t already."
