Death Stranding Trailer

Konami Cancelling Silent Hills After PT “Is One of the Most Moronic Things I’ve Ever Witnessed,” Says del Toro

Following The Game Awards 2016 last night, where Hideo Kojima took home the Industry Icon award and a new Death Stranding trailer premiered, Guillermo del Toro had some harsh words Konami:

After saying “Viva Kojima” and linking to an image of Kojima holding up his award, del Toro tweeted that “Konami cancelling [Silent Hills] after PT is one of the most moronic things I’ve ever witnessed.”

Hideo Kojima was also active on Twitter, where he highlighted the appearances of Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo del Toro in the Death Stranding trailer. “The man in the suit is my dear friend @RealGDT & the man in the army suit is Mads Mikkelsen,” he said. “Main character (the player) is Norman Reedus.”

He added, “How did You like our new Death Stranding teaser? There’re various hints (misleads) hidden so pls watch it to think as many time as you want.”

Discussing Death Stranding’s theme, Kojima said, “Death Stranding theme’s about the strand that humans will lose in near future. Story, world, character, gameplay, all connected to the theme. Also the game development, our bonds to the people in [Sony Interactive Entertainment] (dev, PR, casting team).”

Tweeting an image of himself and Mikkelsen, Kojima revealed that filming for the Death Stranding teaser happened this past summer:
